I am not a cover designer but I can agree that cover layouts play an important role in the overall presentation of stories and I must admit, often times I first judge a book by its cover.

My thoughts:
There really isn’t much to say about this book cover that isn’t already obvious to book lovers! Hands down when there are books or a picture of a library presented on the cover layout, it’s fantastic!

I have a love/hate thing with covers. I don’t like many of the new season of redsigns now emerging. Too much of sketch and not a portrait is sort of how I categorize them. I also don’t like covers that copy a bestseller’s cover. I’m literate–I buy the book I intend to buy based on the title–I don’t accidentally grab a look-a-like. As for the Library book pictured here—LOVE, love, love! THAT is a cover. But I’m a librarian so hopelessly biased. Good post.
